Saint John’s Health System, based in Anderson, Indiana,is a comprehensive integrated healthcare system.Founded in 1894 by the Sisters of the Holy Cross, it is now a part of St. Vincent Health, one of the largest non-profit Catholic healthcare systems in the nation. Saint John’s main aim is to provide special care to those who are poor and vulnerable.Accredited by the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations (JCAHO), Saint John’s Health System is well known for such services as behavioral health, cancer, cardiology, home health, and rehabilitation. Saint John’s Anderson Center provides specialized treatments to patients with addictive diseases and mental health problems.A residential treatment program and eating disorders program also are offered. Saint John’s Medical Center and Saint John’s Cancer Center are the other key facilities of St John’s.St. John’s also consists of an outpatient rehabilitation center, two urgent care centers, and four free-standing family practice facilities in the outlying Madison County communities.Further, the Indiana institution operates a digital cardiac catheterization lab and sub-acute rehabilitation center, children's clinic providing free medical care to children, and an ambulatory center.Diabetes management, dietetic services, medical supplies, respiratory care, and the continuing care center are some of the services offered. Specialized services include skilled nursing care, pain management, palliative care, and geriatric services.In addition, the system offers a range of such classes and programs as an outpatient diabetes education program, childbirth preparation class, and sibling classes.
